When it was all said and done the DC area received it’s seasonal average (24″) in one event. So we have that going for us. Here at Shangri-La the final total was 22″ over the open ground, and 25-27″ in the drifts. A week after the event ended and not all lanes are open on the roadways. My street has only one side open to the curb. The piles at the corners of intersections stand 5-6′ high. This may not seem like much to those from those locales way up North, but it’s a lot for us here around the nation’s capital. We will have snow on the ground here probably until Valentine’s Day.
