What is it that happens when family stays with you as an adult? To me it seems that within a period of 3 days or so you revert back to your pre-adult relationship. Let’s look at this in a little more detail. For me, I recently had my parents stayed with me, and I truly enjoyed it even if it did force me out of my own room. No it’s something more important beyond where you bunk. In my case I became the son they raised under their roof those few years ago who complained about my summer break not being long enough, but who now finds his daylight hours spent working in a professional endeavor that recognizes no summer break. During my parents stay they cleaned (a big thank you!), cooked, made use of most of the tools I possess, and even bought a few more to make repairs around the house. In fact they worked so diligently so often with a work ethic that rival the Amish to shame, and certainly put mine to shame. So at the end of their visit I now have a few new tools, some great memories, and a lot of improvement to the home. And I’m not the sole beneficiary of their visit. No, my neighbors are also winners as the grounds around my home are now in better shape than the day I moved in. Thanks folks!
